So much to say So much to say..and lots of photos to display.
Life is good and we are all very lucky, healthy, plump and tanned! Dubai weather has been amazing but the heat is creeping up on us and the Arabian nights are getting warmer each week.
January I went to Mauritius on one of Shauns layovers..I finally got to see what exactly his work day was like. Just like I suspected , its a lot of sitting around reading the paper. Business class wasn't too shabby and it's as if they knew I was coming, the bar was stocked with bubbles!

im describing myself here! We had a great trip, Kids didn't care one second we left them at a friends house for 3 days, we all needed a break from each other apparently! Mauritius is beautiful, turquoise water, pristine beaches, just like in the brochure. However it rained practically the whole weekend for us!! Good job the local beer was readily available and the hotel had a spa special! Shaun needed a good facial,,those blackheads of his were getting to be a problem!

HAPPY EASTER
Celebrating a Christian holiday such as Easter in the UAE, where the laws, shopping malls and work schedules are governed by Islam, is a rather different experience.
Of course the supermarkets stock plenty of chocolate eggs, but if you wanted to host an Easter feast, with forbidden holiday sundry such as chunks of ham and champagne, you’d have to put a bit more thought into it. I just bought a good guaranteed to please Butterball turkey and thankfully the fancy champagne made it home from France in one piece.
We decorated Eggs in the morning before it got too hot outside and headed over our American friends house to eat and drink till our pants split! Poor Shaun had to work till 2pm and had gone without sleep from the middle of the night departure the night before. A few beers and a change into his Easter Bunny costume he was good to go! As usual the La Rocco family provided non stop entertainment and lots of fun for us all. All in all a great time, not the traditional Easter with the Myers Family but we had a lovely day.
Since Easter Sunday is a regular work day here and the start of a new school term for many kids, lots of expats pretend it’s Easter on Good Friday (the first day of the weekend). Both kids were off luckily. Another difference is that it’s distinctly unspring-like. Being north of the equator, it is technically spring in the Middle East, but the temperature has been rising for the past few weeks, reaching a rather sticky 38°C (90°F) – and it’s only going to get worse. So rather than being full of the joys of spring and life bursting forth, it’s more like life about to get scorched under the hottest sun on earth. The warm weather means outdoor Easter egg hunts are a rather hurried affair, before the eggs melt into chocolate milk puddles and the children might as well go round with straws rather than baskets. Chocolate milk anyone?!
Easter Dresses removed for the egg dying process.
Thanks for checking in !
